We are very
excited to announce that in the next 8 weeks we will be releasing a
brand new version of our creativity software...eXpertLingo v7.5.
In development since December, the new program is a complete rewrite to take advantage of some of the new technology extensions available within Apple's OSX and Microsoft's upcoming Vista operating systems. In addition, our programming team is leading the charge by adding many additional internet technologies so getting the content you need is faster, easier, more expansive and more tuned for developing YOUR innovations.
Thanks to our tremendous feedback from our customers over the course of the last year, and we want you to know that we've been listening. We've made some wonderful new changes that will make our powerful brainstorming software quicker and easier to use. Sounds interesting. I had heard about it from Mark some time ago and had been waiting. One thing I cannot understand... sure, it's great, you probably use your own tools to come up with these new names... BUT, ideafisher - expertsystem - thoughtoffice... what's the logic of losing out on brand equity built over the years?

Excellent comment, Imran.
As for the IdeaFisher brand name: Marsh wanted to keep that tied directly to him (it IS a part of his name...;-), so we had few options.
eXpertSYstem will not go away. We're doing a next rev on the application that will make it a bit easier to use, and continue to sell and support the program (it also exchanges eXpertTopic files with ThoughtOffice).
After polling many, many clients who use our wares, we made the decision to land on a name that:
1) Said what the program does better than eXpertSystem, eXpertLingo.
2) Find a name that had a dot-com URL available. eXpertSystem was branded before we did the domain name research (we, of all people, should know better!).
3) Tie into an existing product name that is ubiquitous on the desktop. Microsoft's Office suite is about the most popular suite in use.
I'm not sure our logic is perfect, but we have to make a marker here, and get to market. So far the response has been very positive, and we hope to support the two separate products in the channel as we compete for brainspace with Mind Mapping and other creativity solutions.
Thanks again for your comments. Good stuff.
