Q: How Do I Create A New Session?

From the eXpertSystem Startup Screen, simply select the second button, New Session.  This will launch the Session Wizard which allows you to create and save preferences for each Session. The following desribes the fastest way to set up a New Session; the  Fastrack method which quickly gets you through the Session Wizard in a matter of seconds so that you can begin crafting your Session immediately!  For a more detailed explanation on how to create Sessions and use the Session Wizard, please refer to  the eXpertLingo Quickstart.

Q: How Do I Move Between Author and Viewer Modes?

From the initial startup screen, you can select the first button, Open Session, to go to Viewer Mode.  Or you can select the second button, New Session, to enter Author Mode.  At any other time, you can toggle between both modes as described below.

Q: How Do I Load Topic Modules?

Once you have created a New Session using the Session Wizard, you will be able to access any of the Topic Modules that you have purchased with eXpertSystem.  The Topic Module menu is located above the upper left window in Author Mode. 

Q: How Do I Add Content From eXpertTopic Modules To My Session?

Once you have loaded your Module of choice, it will appear as an outline in the two upper and lower windows located on the left of the interface.  Click on the arrows next to each heading to expand each topic and reveal comments and questions within that section. 

The right half of the screen is your Session area.  Any comments and questions you add from the Module will be carried over to this area of the screen. For a more detailed explanation on adding content to Sessions in Author Mode, please refer to the eXpertLingo Quickstart Guide.

Q: How Do I Find And Open My Session Files?

From the initial startup screen, selecting the Open Session button will open a window as shown below.  Session files end in .exs 

Q: How Do I Add Text To My Sessions In Viewer Mode?

Q: How Do I Open eXpertLingo?

By default, eXpertLingo is automatically launched whenever you start eXpertSystem.  Once you have closed it, you can re-open eXpertLingo at any time by selecting the lightbulb icon.  For more information on eXpertLingo, please refer to the eXpertLingo Quickstart    and the Associative Thinking page.

Q: How Do I Brand My Sessions?

You can easily brand your Session within the Session Wizard.

1)  Simply select New Session from the start up screen and you will be taken immediately to the Session wizard. (See the post on How to Use the Session Wizard for more information.)

2) Step 3 in the Session Wizard is where the branding takes place. If you have a logo you wish to display with your Sessions, simply upload the image from your hard drive by clicking the Browse button.

3)  You also have the option of creating an Outline for your logo. 

4) Click Next and you will be given the opportunity to save your Session.

5)  To make any changes to your brand, you can access the Session Properties icon while in Author Mode. 

Q: How Do I Print My Sessions?

1) Open a Session file in eXpertSystem.

2) Click the small "Printer" icon on the eXpertSystem toolbar.

3) Click "Print" in your printer dialog.

4) A Print Preview screen will appear after a short time. Use this view to see how many entries are on each page, and if you need to change the size of the text or images to make a clearer presentation.

5) When you're happy with the look of the final document, click the Print button on the upper right of the Print Preview and you'll see your Session on paper, branded, Copyright Notice and the Session Author's name, all in place for easy sharing.

Q: How Do I View My Session As A Slideshow Presentation?

1) Select the Slideshow Button on the eXs toolbar (far right on the toolbar)

2) Select the screen size and text size for your presentation (small – normal – large)

3) View your presentation!

Again, your Brand, Copyright and Name are also persistent on the presentation, so you always know who authored the ideas being presented.
